One of Port Vale's talented youngsters has signed an extended contract.
19 year-old James Gibbons, has penned a deal until 2020 after an impressive start to the season.
His current deal was due to expire next year but after a successful spell under the new manager, Gibbons was offered a two year extension.
The teenager is a product of the Port Vale Academy, along with Ryan Boot, Nathan Smith and Dan Turner.
Manager Neil Aspin told the club's official website: “It was very important because he’s a local lad, but not only that, he’s a good player and he’s going to get better - that’s the main thing.
“He has youth on his side and I’m delighted that he’s signed. His attitude is fantastic and tonight we were able to have three players in the back five that are all local which is great for the club.”
