Forrester on target as Vale extend unbeaten run

Port Vale extended their unbeaten run to three games after a 1-1 draw at Newport County last night.

Manager Neil Aspin named the same starting eleven that had knocked Oxford United out of the FA Cup the previous week, which meant a place on the substitutes bench for recent new recruit Chris Regis.

Matt Dolan put the home side ahead on 54 minutes, but substitute Anton Forrester equalised for the Valiants ten minutes from time.

It was the striker's first league goal of an injury hit season and his second in as many games, after scoring against Crewe in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday night.
