Crewe to assess Ray injury

Crewe will assess the injury that forced George Ray off just 20 minutes into last night's 3-0 win over Crawley.

The centre-half limped off after appearing to aggravate a groin muscle, but the club are hopeful that it is a strain rather than a tear.

In a statement on their website, the club said: "Ray had some severe discomfort in his groin area but it is hoped that the injury is not too serious, but of course, he will face a race against time to be in contention for our home game against Colchester this weekend."
