The Tale of the Toilet - Archive Films

On the eve of International Thomas Crapper Day, Gladstone Pottery Museum hosts a special film show presented by Potteries born Terry Woolliscroft who asks the question "What makes a good toilet?"
Using films, both ancient and modern, Terry will explore recorded images and sounds of the manufacture of these massive pieces used in bathrooms worldwide.
"Actually" says Terry, "making a toilet is just like making a teapot, it's just that it's so much bigger!".Free (normal admission applies to the rest of the museum), 2pm. Please call the museum on 01782 237777 to book a place.
