Marie Curie's Walk Ten Event!
Charity events aren't all triathlons and marathons, but Marie Curie's Walk Ten is an event we can ALL get involved in.
This July, join Martin from the Signal 1 Drivetime Show and the Signal 1 team will be taking part in their 10k walk through the grounds of Shugborough Estate – and you can join us!
This year is bigger and better, with live music and entertainment afterwards.
Join the celebrations
Enjoy an evening 10k walk with views of the fine Georgian mansion house and the riverside garden terraces. The estate’s 900-acre classical landscape is peppered with unusual monuments, creating a magical atmosphere as the sun sets. Dogs are welcome so bring along your four-legged friends.
After completing the walk, settle down with your picnic and enjoy the festival-like celebrations with live music, entertainment and spectacular fireworks at 10pm. These fireworks coincide with the time many Marie Curie Nurses start their night shift, providing care to people with terminal illnesses and their families in their own homes.
We're asking each walker to aim to raise £60 which pays for three hours of care.
With your help, Walk Ten at Shugborough will raise significant money to care for even more people with terminal illnesses and provide support for their families. Every additional £20 raised will provide another hour of care and £180 pays for a nurse's full shift.
Once you have registered for your Walk Ten, you can quickly and easily create an online fundraising page with JustGiving, and start sharing it with your friends and family.
If you're a Team Leader who has registered other people to join you on your Walk Ten, please ensure you create the JustGiving page in your name so we can match your funding to your registration. Thank you.
