25th June 2010
Well now my 'super trooper' son has seen all my photos he has taken to believing in miracles, cheeky lad! The following has been his Facebook status since has been "Jason cannot believe his muvver looks like Sharon Osbourne"! Even my first born son said he would have walked past me because I look so very different! 12 of my old school mates meet up regularly for a catch up and a curry and my oldest friend said "well I hope your ears were burning because you were the topic of conversation all night"! The final vote was that I look exactly like I did at school...maybe with hair a little bit longer.
Everywhere I go friends and neighbours are asking me where I've had the work done, who by and how much!!!!! I started back 2 "fat club" aka slimming world on Wednesday and I took my photos that Roger the photographer had given me, the girls were really amazed...one said "here's me feeling brave because I've been to the dentist for a polish with my mum holding my hand"! They cant believe the change in not only my looks but my attitude and out look on life is so different, I am determined to keep having my nails done by Lisa, the comments I've had on my nails alone is outstanding, it's the new bio gel which is really like an un-damageable French manicure on your own nails.
I'm going to see Anthony on Tuesday at Clayton Dental because at the moment I only have a temporary crown fitted and I will be able 2 show off my photos! I can honestly say I've never felt happier than I do now, thank you all 4 this life changing opportunity! xxxxxxx

My blog is being brought to you courtesy of...Miss Lemsip, Mr Nurofen, Miss Vicks and Mr.Kleenex, so much has happened its hard 2 remember every detail!
Thursday morning I'm off for a beautiful hair styling session with JACKIE at FRANCESCO'S, I had no idea of what I wanted, only of what I didn't want! All the girls in the salon were really lovely, so interested in what was going on I felt like a superstar! I decided to let Jackie decide as after all she is the expert, so I had a brown colour with some light highlights that turned out much much better than I ever expected, even if at one point i did feel like GAIL PLATT and then KRUSTY THE CLOWN, but it was all light hearted fun! While I was having the colour rinsed off my hair my phone sprang to life for the millionth time, it was Michelle from Clayton Cosmetics. "What are your plans?" she asks........well my plan was to get home have my nails done and then big brother and nothing else seeing as I had only seen Anthony (aka George, Mr Darcey) the day before. So leaving the salon we got caught in the 5 o'clock traffic not getting home until 5.45, where I found the lovely LISA from LISA'S NAILS AND BEAUTY waiting on my doorstep, the poor love had been there since 4.55, so after a quick furniture re-jiggle I had my nails done - something I've never bothered with before as I hate bendy nails, so thanks to Lisa's professionalism, we were all done and dusted for just after 7.0 clock.
Back to the Bat Cave for another quick change then off up to Clayton Cosmetic Centre. Poor Mr P. looked shattered when I finally got there, and for some reason was dreading this blog - I don't know why, he is wonderful! None of Anthony's bubblegum freeze stuff, straight in at the deep end! The rotten lot had decided they didn't like the colour of my crown after all so out it came and the temporary one was popped back in.
Then after not a single minutes sleep it was Friday morning, so off I go back to Jackie at Francesco's for a tidy up of my hair. That was soon sorted and it was off to ROGER at EL NORMANS OF NEWCASTLE for the final photo shoot. Nervous.......hahahaha!! I met the gorgeous NATALIE who did my make-up while Roger made coffee....well eventually! Anyway, then it was time for the shoot! I had lots of different outfits...some supplied by the fantastic ANNIE DEMPSEY. My final photo was taken wearing this gorgeous dress, hahahaha it was a good job no-one could see that it was at least 6 ins too small so it wasn't fastened! Annie had been with me most of Thursday and Friday, she gave me the courage when I needed it (thank you annie xxx)
Well the photo shoot went really well, Roger is a 110% perfectionist as well as Anthony, Mr P and Jackie, so the three hour shoot flew by. then it was a quick dash home to be picked up again at 4.30 by Annie for the final reveal! This is where all the jitters started! I went to get changed and I had forgotten my shoes!! Well I thought it was funny anyway! So after my eldest daughter's mercy dash, I had shoes again. Roger took some family shots that I really can't wait to see. Then Annie made her speech and it was time to go. Roger presented me with a massive portrait and the Signal girls another beautiful floral arrangement, loads more photos were taken to the amusement of one passer-by at least! The evening was as the journey has been, remarkable, scary....but a happy ending. It's a shame we didn't reach the 10yrs younger target though...................it's more like 15 - 20 yrs!!!!
Lyn's visit to Francesco's, Hanley - 10th June 2010
7th June 2010
Well last week was full of nice things! Liz Ellis said the dreaded words "we've got another surprise for you"! Happily it turned out to be a "shop 'til you drop" session with the lovely Rachel from OUTFIT on Festival Park! Anyone who knows me will agree I'm the worlds worst shopper - I invented trolley rage!! All I said was after wearing black for years I wanted to stay away from that colour, then I spotted a gorgeous stripy top, but that was the only rule - no stripes! Well poor Rachel must have emptied the entire 6 shops in the outlet!! Then THE SHOES......OMG shoe heaven!! And the reveal "outfit" was all arranged around the most gorgeous pair of shoes!! 10 yrs younger?? I felt 16 again!! So we got to pay and have another unexpected surprise for that day as there was a 20% discount so got loads more! If I win the lottery, I will just employ Rachel to do all my shopping for me! Thanks Rachel and all the other beautiful young ladies who ooooooooooooohed and ahhhhhhhhhed!! I felt just like me but honestly 30+ yrs younger and I've still got the hair makeup and nails to look forward to!
I'm having my hair done on Thursday lunchtime, then a really lovely friendly young lady called Lisa who runs LISA'S NAILS AND BEAUTY MOBILE is calling round on Thursday evening to do my nails, how fantastic will that be, being treated and in my own home as well!! Cut my finger under my nail on Sunday and instead of *!"£$%$$$, I just managed to whimper "my nails"! I've never had them done before so don't want to mess up!
The next morning, Friday 11th is my big day....well our big day, for everyone who has put their own time and sponsorship into this! I'm a bit sad my son can't make it from London, and my daughter and her boyfriend cant make it, also the dashing doctor Dash! Still it can't be helped I'm feeling quite sad that its all nearly over, like being pregnant and centring everything round the birth.........then you realise you've missed all the pampering, so thank you all so very much, I hope to see you all on Friday at EL NORMAN, NEWCASTLE XXXX............N NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOBODY IS HAVING "THE" SHOES!! X

Well what a 'high' I'm on! I went to see Anthony at Clayton Cosmetics on Thursday.....I was wondering if it was a little bit 'wrong' to be excited about having your teeth pulled out! I went to Tesco before and a lady came up to me and said "You are the lady off the Signal Blogs, I do enjoy reading them and I feel like I've been through this with you". ooh fame at last! Anyway off we go, I went to see the gorgeous girls aka Susan and Tracey first to see if any bits wanted Botoxing or filling and it was agreed errrrrrrrr I had lovely cheeks! I won't mention what Tracey called them, (it is true though!!) Then the dashing Doctor Dash stole me away from our girlie chat to go and have the dreaded teeth pulled. I would be a total liar if I said I wasn't worried because I think it's instilled in us that dentists mean "pain", Anthony said I would need quite a few injections, which after having his "magic bubble-gum freeze" I honestly didn't feel! I panicked a little when he told me the roots from your front teeth are up by your nostril, but yet again my panic was dealt with immediately, Anthony had said previously that one tooth would be trickier than the others, so I was slowly getting panicky as he reached it. My daughter Katy has a severe needle phobia, yet because of the lovely warm atmosphere she stayed with me throughout. I did have a bad dose of the shakes though but Anthony said it was because I had lots of injections and the whole adrenalin thing kicked in, but you could never pay for better treatment! Susan came in and along with Anthony, Katy, Susan and the Dental Nurse who I must apologise to because I've forgotten her name....the very pretty one with a blonde bob, all re-assured me and within literally seconds it was all over and then I HAD MY NEW TEETH!!
Oh my goodness are they white and sparkling and beautifully shaped, they are comfy and I could talk properly instantly! I must admit my mouth was sore for a day or two and the bottom denture rubbed a little bit but another trip to see Anthony and the girls and it was all sorted. I forgive him now for smudging my lip gloss....me wearing lip gloss oh my goodness!
I also met Jackie from FRANCESCO'S in Hanley, and I couldn't take my eyes off her hair, it was absolutely gorgeous so I think I know what style to go for now. I should have been having my hair done this Tuesday, but my daughter Katy, who has been with me every single step of the way wanted a surprise to look forward to at the reveal, so I will be going to have my hair done on Tuesday 8th June, on the eve of my "reveal"! I am talking to absolute complete strangers totally full of confidence, something I've never done before, but who can resist my brilliant white smile now! I haven't smiled for years, so it is a massive surprise that I can do this naturally. I'm sure some people will think "what's that crazy woman smiling at?", but for once I know people can look at me now and like what they see! My daughter's parting comment to her friend today was "don't make her more of a diva, she's murder just lately", and I'm loving every second of it thank you all once again xxx
18th May 2010
It's blog time again!
Had another easy week really, Anthony, the dental surgeon aka George Clooney started me on a 'home teeth whitening' adventure, well it's more definite than probably my fault....I think I overloaded the little tooth cover thing and I had a extremely bad reaction, all my gums were swollen and I had ulcers the size of "fag ends" so poor Anthony was redundant for a week. However I met him on Monday for our usual 1/2 hours of dental treatment mixed in with the most insane sense of humour....I love that because we all have the same silly ideas on most things, and yet again this has made my transformation a brilliant journey! The Clayton staff are all so unexplainably fantastic that you don't have time to feel worried or sorry for yourself, all I've been given from day one is massive confidence boosts and I will honestly miss them all...but I'm not going to pull anymore teeth out though, on Monday Anthony levelled all my bottom teeth off and gave me a different type of whitening while I was there, this went really well so I'm back to my little home kit now until Thursday.....D DAY, when I have my final teeth removed and my new ones in woooooooo hooooooo I cant wait!!
At the moment I have 1 perfect sparkling white tooth so my neighbour has christened me 'Nanny Mcphee'.....she will be the 1st one I bite on Thursday! I'm going 2 see Susan and Tracey...the Botox girls...who also are two wonderful beautiful ladies, for a bit more filler as my eyes still look a bit wrinkly. I'm sooooo excited now we have a 'reveal' date the 4th of June which will be in the afternoon....of my eldest daughters birthday so we will all then go for a lovely meal with the rest of the family and my gorgeous three grand sons......sorry if I'm all over the place I'm like a big kid on Christmas Eve, going for my hair consultation on Tuesday with the staff from Francesco's in Hanley where there will be champagne ..........shame I don't drink ... was going to say I'll have my usual black coffee...but that is out of the question now as my new teeth are for life not just for Christmas! I've gone from about 8 cups a day down 2 having one in 4 days. Which might explain the hyper activity hahahahaha! Well I can't say I'm looking forward to Thursday, I think it's just installed in a lot of people to be scared of the dentists. I KNOW I will be absolutely fine, hope more pics from Roger from EL NORMANS will be up soon and then comes the lovely relaxing bit of 'pampering' from ALLA at THE VIP Clinic at the Brampton in Newcastle, I am really going 2 enjoy this as it has been a proper whirlwind of being number one...watch out Naomi Campbell the real diva is in the house! x

6th May 2010
Well I've had a nice easy week this week, so been able to do a "Kim and Aggie" at home, (unless that's the next competition hehehehe!) I went to see Anthony or DR.DASH(......or even GEORGE CLOONEY'S YOUNGER BROTHER.......or as his staff call him MR. DARCY!) Not quite sure if they mean the one from Bridgett Jones' Diary! I was thinking to myself over the weekend about this massive transformation, I bet Dr. Anthony and Mr P see themselves as either Dr. Frankenstein or Professor Higgins! So I asked the charmingly cool young and very handsome Dr. Anthony which he was and his words were "in your next blog say I'm like George Clooney"!
At first I thought everyone was being so nice because of the competition but no, they are all naturally brilliant so much so that on Tuesday I asked Dr. Anthony to remove a painful tooth, and honestly yet again it was absolutely nothing! All over and done literally in a couple of seconds! It has been a bit uncomfortable so have been back today to have it rinsed out and packed with the most disgusting smelly stuff you can imagine, saying that, it was there before my tea and not after! I also went in for a very tiny amount of Botox to even my cheek out as I have a natural dent. Roger from EL NORMAN came in today to do take some 'in-betweeny' shots...it was really hilarious everyone dashing for their lip gloss....as if any of them need make up! But we all had a really fun photo-shoot!
Ooops met the girls from Signal as well on Tuesday what a pair of darlings! I'm getting really excited now as there are 1 or 2 little surprises that I don't know about oooooooooooooh cant wait! I think that's all the gossip for this week.......I'm having the time of my life it's brilliant! xxx
26th April 2010
Well what a week this has been! I went to the VIP clinic at Brampton House on Friday as they are offering a range of non-surgical improvements, the slimming one and the bum and boob lift sound ideal, if JCB have got a spare crane for the day!! My daughter Katy came with me and once again we were treated like royalty, we were shown the most amazing before and after shots of the treatments and no way on this earth were the snaps doctored...they were 110% genuine results....just as we were leaving the lovely owner said "you're not diabetic are you?". I said no, but my mum had diabetes which eventually led to an earlier death because it had been un-diagnosed for years which led to heart disease. So the following morning I had a routine appointment with my lovely GP who noticed 'something different, fresher' about me, I asked if he could do a simple finger prick test, he thought it better to just pop in and have a full glucose blood test. The next day as I'm on my way to have my first teeth out (panicking in royal style) I decided to pop into TESCO in Trent Vale for a quick finger prick test which is offered free by the pharmacy, so its all going well until the lady who did my blood said 'hang on I need to fetch the pharmacist'. My sugar count was higher than normal, so being a stress-head I go to Clayton to have my teeth out, I went to see Tracy because I have a tiny dent in my cheek so I'm going to have a bit more filler put in next week - enter the dental surgeon - by now I'm hiding behind the door, dragging my nails along the floor, off I go still absolutely mortified and gabbling away like a lunatic! I had some bubblegum flavour freezer applied to my gums before I had the injection (I had been begging 4 sedation for a week!!!!!) Well the first tooth literally popped out in 2/3 seconds. no pain no nothing, however the next was a bit tricky and after a while half of the tooth shot down my t-shirt, everyone there found it hilarious (me included), well the tooth came out and I needed a few stitches which as I've never had them before I was really calm! I was told to take painkillers, which I have. I have a bit of a swollen face but I'm going back tomorrow (Tuesday) to have another one out and you might think I'm fibbing but I'm not scared and I feel really confident about having this done - I can see the Botox is working and I'm really beginning to enjoy the whole experience......back soon x
17th April 2010
Well on Monday I went back to Clayton Cosmetic Centre and I met even more really lovely people! I went in for a 40 minute session with Jenny, it's amazing how I've learnt I've never brushed my teeth properly! Well that goes without saying really, so I'm really cracking down and getting my gums into a better condition for the veneers, scared but oooooooooooooh I can't wait! I've got to have three teeth out on Thursday, which I must admit I did ask for the sedative injection and was talked around that I wouldn't need it.
Then I came home and cried for hours thinking "oh my god, I can't do all this"! Yesterday (Friday) I went to see the very glamorous Tracey English for what I thought was a consultation - how wrong was I! I had had a £2,ooo treatment of Botox and Fillers! I won't lie, it did hurt in a certain area but as soon as I thought "ouch" it had gone. Got a few bruises today as expected but I do bruise like a peach anyway. My daughter came with me and she hates needles but the whole procedure was quick and for most of it painfree. It was actually very relaxing, now I'm like a teenager hahahahahaha because I have got the most gorgeous pout EVER!! I just hope it doesn't go down at all, and after this treatment the added bonus is you have to sit relaxed and just read a magazine or watch T.V!
I've tried the same trick this morning but my lovely son Kris isn't that daft....he woke me up around 6.30ish this morning to see my pout it's that amazing! Thank you everyone at the Clayton Cosmetic Centre you're all stars! xxxxxx
11th April 2010
All the excitement started on Wednesday evening [7th April] when I got a phone call saying I was through to the final 2, I honestly thought when I heard the words "the entrants have been whittled down to 2" I was expecting to hear "you weren't one but thank you for entering" so I was shocked to then hear "and you are one of them"! I told my family and still thought there must be a mistake....then the shakes began, I dropped my blackberry phone into a cup of coffee...this ultimately led to its very premature death, so then I go off along my own route thinking well this must be a sign, as I had been told earlier that i would be contacted in the morning with the final result.
After a very long sleepless night I decided to go to Tesco and do my weekly shopping, I had contacted Signal and given them my daughters number.............so just as I was paying I received a phone call from Liz Ellis asking if I would mind having a chat with her as one of the finalists! Well, as I can talk for Britain I agreed...half way through she admitted telling porkies......and I was the winner!! God knows what the other people outside Tesco thought I'm jumping up and down and my daughter Katy is in tears of pride and happiness!
I came home from Tesco and answered a knock at the door, thinking it was my son, and Michelle from Clayton Dental was stood there with a massive bouquet of gorgeous flowers! Each red rose had a little crystal in it, but she also had her camera running! I haven't had flowers since 1999 when my son was in Kosovo and managed to get some sent to me on my birthday, so now I'm all of a fluff, getting organised. I bought a new cheap phone, that was broken, got another one and spent all day sending the wrong number to all the agencies involved. On Friday I went to EL Norman photographers to have my "before" shots taken, which I swear I will not look at!! Roger the photographer was great, his happy chat soon made me feel at ease and what could have been a bit of a nerve-wrecker turned out to be quite a giggle and I cant wait to go back and have the full works, the studio is fantastic! Well I've got to go to Clayton Cosmetic Centre on Tuesday for more dental shots and a 40 minute preparation appointment with the hygienist....am a bit worried but I'm being comforted and pampered left right and centre...the comp should be renamed as "PRINCESS FOR 6 WEEKS"! I'm looking forward to my next blog xxx Lyn
