Olly Murs claims the charts are 'Not Fair'!
Despite Olly Murs having four number 1's under his belt... he's NOT happy with the charts!
Mr. Murs has opened up about his recent struggles with the top 40 and claimed that it's more difficult than ever to get to the top spot!
Since the introduction of streaming into the charts, it has led to concerns of popular artists getting automatic number 1's... this recently saw Drake remain at number 1 for 15 weeks!
Olly's new single 'You Don't Know Love' has only peaked at number 19 on the official chart but has spent weeks at number 1 in the radio airplay rankings... something that he says should count towards sales!
Speaking to Digital Spy, Olly said "Streaming is so popular, so if you are an in demand act, obviously people want to listen to your music. I feel like the chart now, for breaking new artists, is harder, because the songs have to be incredible.
"I do think it's the way forward, but for example, my song has been No.1 on the radio airplay chart for the last couple of weeks, and that's amazing for me - it's huge.
"The radio chart doesn't help on the main chart, whereas with streaming you have to be on certain playlists for it to have effect. So then a Spotify or Apple Music playlist would be the equivalent of us listening to a radio playlist".
Despite it's disappointing position in the official charts, Olly Murs has revealed that he is happy with how the new single has done.
"For me, 'You Don't Know Love' has been successful and I'm enjoying it and it's gone well, but it's still not where I want it to be,"
