Kidsgrove sign former Barbados international

Kidsgrove Athletic are pleased to announce the signing of former Retford United, Macclesfield Town and Hednesford Striker Neil Harvey.

The former Barbados international signed for the club last night after the memorial game for James Byrne where Kidsgrove won 5-2.

Harvey scored 76 goals in 134 appearances in his first spell at Retford and went on to have fruitful spells at Hednesford and Marine more recently.

Harvey has also represented Barbados on six occasions scoring two goals.

Manager Peter Ward was delighted, “Neil is a great signing for the club.

“Hopefully he can come in and add to our striking options, where we are starting to look strong with Ant Malbon, Joe Woolley, Jordan Johnson and Jordan Peach.

“We need more goals in the side this season and Neil will help us with that, he’s a goal-scorer, good around the box and holds up the play very well.”

Harvey is expected to make his debut this Saturday against Prescot Cables (3:00 KO).
