Girl who wrote to David Cameron receives reply
A bright seven-year-old who was upset when David Cameron resigned wrote to the former PM to tell him 'I will miss you being Prime Minister' - and received a response just a few weeks later.
Charlotte McLellan wrote to Mr Cameron after he left his role as leader of the country following the Brexit vote and said she was 'sad you have quit your job'.
The intelligent youngster, described as 'quite an individual' by her mum, Nicola, was warned she might not receive a reply but was thrilled when Mr Cameron wrote back to tell her he was 'profoundly grateful' for her support.
And a couple of weeks later, Mr Cameron repled, thanking Charlotte for her 'incredibly kind letter'.
Mr Cameron said he 'deeply appreciated' Charlotte's note and that her support meant a 'huge amount to me and Samantha'.
Nicola described how proud she is of her young daughter.
She said: 'I'm really proud of her - she just brought the letter to me, I didn't even know about it.
'I hope she keeps her interest up. I'm sure she'll want to send a letter to Theresa May if she thinks she's doing a good job too.'
