City installs traffic lights on the floor
We're all guilty of walking around with our heads stuck in our phones AT LEAST once or twice...
But it can be pretty dangerous – and a city in Germany has now even taken the step of installing traffic lights in the floor to warn dead-eyed pedestrians that trams are approaching.
The traffic lights have been installed in the city of Augsburg, where two pedestrians were lucky to escape with minor injuries after they were both hit by trams while looking at their phones.
They have been in operation since last week, and flash red when a tram is approaching, or when the normal traffic light turns red – because looking up for just 1 second, is just too much hassle these days.
