Shia LaBeouf swears and threatens police in arrest video

Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf was filmed making a gun threat while shouting and repeatedly swearing at police during his arrest at the weekend.

The 31-year-old actor is seen in the police bodycam footage telling officers: "If I had my gun, I'll blow your s*** up."

A handcuffed LaBeouf, sitting in a police car, boasts about his "millionaire lawyers" and repeatedly calls an officer a "dumb f***".

He tells the black officer: "You've got a president who don't give a shit about you and you're stuck in a police force that don't give a f*** about you. So you want to arrest white people who give a f***, who ask for cigarettes?"

He goes on: "You took all my rights away from me, I did nothing to you. You took my rights away as an American."

When he arrives at the police station, LaBeouf continues yelling expletive-filled insults at officers and questions whether they are American.

The actor was arrested in the early hours of 8 July in the lobby of a hotel in Savannah, Georgia.

Police said he had approached a stranger and a police officer asking for a cigarette about 4am.

When he was not given a cigarette he started "using profanities and vulgar language in front of the women and children present", police said.

LaBeouf was charged with obstruction, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, and released later that day after paying a $7,000 (£5,450) bail.

The actor was in Savannah to film his latest movie, The Peanut Butter Falcon, an adventure story about a young man with Down's syndrome who runs away to follow his dream of becoming a professional wrestler.

This is not the first time that the troubled star, who found fame as a child on the Disney Channel, has been in trouble with the law.

In January he was arrested after an alleged altercation with a man at the site of his anti-Donald Trump live art protest. The charges were later dismissed.

He was also arrested for public intoxication in 2015 in Texas and driving under the influence in 2008 in California.

In 2014 LaBeouf was arrested for drunken behaviour during a Broadway performance of Cabaret, when he stood up and shouted at the actors on stage.

After pleading guilty, he received treatment for alcohol addiction as part of a settlement related to the incident.
