Monday, March 13th, 2017 12:16pm

Two people have been assaulted during a petrol station robbery in Uttoxeter.

Police say three men armed with bolt croppers entered the BP Euro Garage on the A50 at around 12.45am this morning.

One jumped over the counter and threatening the assistant, who was then struck about his face and head.

A lorry driver, who was inside the petrol station at the time, was also punched in the face by a second offender.

Neither required hospital treatment.

The offenders fled the scene with a quantity of cigarettes, cash and scratch cards in what is believed to be a black Vauxhall Vectra.

The men are described as white, aged in their early 20’s and wearing hooded tops. One was wearing a pair of shorts.

An investigation into the incident is now underway and anyone with information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 24 of March 13, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
