Teenager killed in crash near Leek named

Victim identified as 17 year old Alexander Anderson from Wilmslow

Police have named a teenager who died in a crash near Leek as 17 year old Alexander Anderson from Wilmslow.

His car, a Volkswagen Golf, collided with a lorry on the A523 Macclesfield Road at its junction with Green Lane yesterday afternoon.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Specially trained officers are supporting his family.

The lorry driver was unhurt.

Witnesses are urged to contact Sgt Jim Perry at Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 358 of June 6.
