Para-equestrian Lee Pearson has today received a knighthood from the Duke of Cambridge.

The winner of eleven Paralympic gold medals, Lee has represented Britain at five Paralympic Games.

The 43-year-old from Cheddleton also has 14 World Championship and five European titles.

He has achieved all this despite breaking his back in four places when he fell during training in 2011, recovering to win his tenth gold medal in the team dressage event at London 2012.

He was amongst the sporting heroes named in the Queen's New Year's Honours List, and was knighted for services to equestrianism
