A serving Staffordshire Police officer has spoken of the time he came face-to-face with a man armed with a knife.
PC Paul Hamilton was on patrol with a colleague when they were called out to reports of a man armed with a knife near some shops.
The force is this week staging a knife amnesty following on from last year's success.
Over 1,100 bladed weapons were handed in during a week long campaign.
During the amnesty there was an 18 per-cent reduction in knife crime compared to the same period in the previous twelve months.
