Police helicopter and dogs brought in after phone shop break-in

Police dogs and helicopter were called to track down thieves who broke into a Congleton shop.

The alarm was activated at the Carphone Warehouse on Congleton Retail Park in Barn Road shortly after midnight (20 April).

The thieves fled empty handed.

Despite an extensive search of the area by officers, backed by air and dog support, the suspects were not located.

DI Simon Newell from Cheshire Police said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area before or after the alarm was activated to contact us on 101.”
