Nominations open to honour volunteers and carers

Residents in Staffordshire are being urged to nominate those who go the extra mile to help others for an award.

The Staffordshire Dignity Awards recognises individuals, teams and organisations for the difference they have made to the lives of others.

Organisers say it gives the opportunity to thank and reward those people whose actions make a difference and serve as an example to others.

Last year's winners include an 11-year-old who raised funds for and awareness of Cancer Research after the loss of his mum through breast cancer, and a nursing home that not only looked after a person with total dignity and respect at their end of their life, but also offered exceptional care for their families.

Nominations are now open to celebrate the achievements of young people, family carers, community groups, supportive friends and neighbours.
