New scanner changes the lives of babies in Stafford

The County Hospital in Stafford has taken delivery of a new state of the art hip scanner which is set to change the lives of people in the area.

It has been funded by the University Hospitals of North Midlands Charity (UHNM Charity).

Bosses say it means that babies from Stafford and the surrounding area will be able to receive expert treatment at County Hospital.

Before the donation many of Staffordshire's tiniest patients, like seven month old Harrison Ward, (pictured above) will have regularly attended a clinic at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

UHNM Charity was able to fund the £30,000 scanner thanks to donations from local people and organisations, including £6,000 from Support Stafford Hospital Group.
