Man charged with affray and criminal damage following rooftop stand-off

A 25-year-old man has been charged following a 7 hour rooftop stand-off with police at the former Flag Lane swimming baths in Crewe.

Officers were called out at .712am on Wednesday (19 April) to reports a man was on the roof in an agitated state and was throwing items off the roof.

Police negotiators attended and the man came down shortly before 2pm.

He was taken to hospital, but later arrested.

The 25-year-old has been charged with affray and seven counts of criminal damage.
