The southbound carriageway of the M6 in Cheshire has been closed following a collision.
Emergency services were called out to reports of an incident involving three vehicles at Junction 17 shortly after 2:30pm.
Two heavy goods vehicles and a red Peugeot 206 were involved, and one of the HGVs was on fire.
One of the drivers is believed to have sustained serious injuries and has been taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Firefighters say after tackling the lorry blaze, they cleared up engine oil spilt on to the carriageway.
Junctions 18 to 17 southbound have been closed and drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
