Investigation underway into toddler death

Two people arrested

Two people have been arrested following the sudden death of an 18-month old boy in Stoke On Trent.

He was taken from an address in Woodgate Street in Meir, by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire yesterday but died.

The death is being treated as unexplained.

A post mortem is taking place to establish the cause of death.

A 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both from the Stoke-on-Trent area, are currently being questioned by detectives in connection with the incident.
