Hundreds of people are set to march on Sandbach today in protest at the Government's new national funding formula for schools.
Under the changes, Cheshire East schools could be the worst-funded in the country, with a 2.1 per cent budget cut by 2019/20.
It could lead to some schools opening just four days a week, teachers being axed, classroom sizes increased and school trips cut.
A report is also suggesting severe funding shortfalls will mean secondary schools could lose the equivalent of six teachers.
The Education Policy Institute says half of secondaries and primaries are facing cuts of between 6 and 11 per-cent by 2020.
Thousands of people have already signed a petition while the Government's consultation ends on March 22.
