Investigations are continuing into an explosion at a house in Stoke-On-Trent.
Police have confirmed an explosion which destroyed a house in Stoke On Trent was caused by an accidental build up of gas.
Officers and fire investigators suspect the incident on Argyle Street was due to a leak which was ignited by an electrical item in one of the rooms.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the incident just before 3pm yesterday.
Neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution and two people were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The remains of the end terrace property are now being demolished.
A cordon around the end terrace property remains in place and the road is also still closed.
Detective Inspector Steve Morrey, of Staffordshire Police, said: "After a joint investigation with our partners the cause of the explosion has been determined as accidental ignition. Fortunately no one was more seriously injured as a result of this incident.
"We would like to thank the community for their support whilst we undertook this complex investigation.”
