Police are investigating a spate of car thefts after homes were broken into in Newcastle and Cannock over the Easter weekend.
The incidents include:
- Offenders stole a white Audi A5 convertible from a house in Ridgmont Road, Newcastle after breaking into the house through a side door on Thursday 13 April, around midday (Incident 338 of 13 April).
- An address in Horatius Road, Newcastle was broken into just after 3:30pm on Saturday 16 April through a back door and the car keys to a blue Golf GTI was taken. Offenders then stole the car from the drive. (Incident 423 of 16 April).
- A grey Mercedes AMG A45 was stolen from an address in Clarion Way, Cannock, on Sunday 16 April. The offence was discovered around 4am when the owners were woken and found their back door had been forced open. (Incident 140 of 16 April).
- Offenders smashed a small window to gain access to a house in Allensway, Newcastle, between 6pm on Saturday 16 April and 12:30pm on Monday 17 April, and stole a grey Range Rover VRM. (Incident 329 of 17 April).
Police are now urging residents to review home and vehicle security measures.
