29 year old tastes Olympic victory

Leek rower Anna Watkins has won gold for Team GB with her partner Katherine Grainger in the women's double sculls.

They won by a clear length over Australia.

Anna said: "We knew were capable of it but no-one is going to give you a medal for that.

"We enjoyed every stroke.

"It was just another race in many ways, but it was the right one.

"The crowd are amazing, you feel like you are in a stadium out there.

"It feels like they are behind you, in front of you and beside you.”

It takes Great Britain's gold medal tally to 6, taking us to 4th in the medal table.
