Four arrests in connection with shooting incident

Wednesday, July 11th 2012 17:53

Two men were injured in the disturbance last year

Police have arrested four people in connection with a shooting incident in Stoke-on-Trent, last August.

In a pre-planned operation this morning, police arrested two men in Stoke-on-Trent and two men in the West Midlands.

They were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, contrary to the Firearms Act 1968.

The men were arrested in connection with the disturbance in Wise Street, Dresden, in the early hours of Friday 19 August 2011, in which two men sustained superficial injuries.

This morning officers arrested a 20-year-old and a 22-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent, and a 25-year-old and 32-year-old from Tipton in the West Midlands.

They have all been bailed, pending further inquiries, to various dates next month.

Following the incident last August officers arrested five men at a commercial premise in Bucknall Old Road.

Two were charged with offences but later released by the court with no further action.
