Heavy overnight rain has forced the closure of a road in Cheshire.
The A533 Booth Lane between Middlewich and Sandbach is shut as Storm Aileen continues to batter the UK.
United Utilities are at the scene while highways have set up diversions in the area.
Cheshire East Council’s highways teams have been busy overnight dealing with a number of fallen trees, which have blocked roads, but the borough appears to have escaped the scale of damage which has occurred in other parts of the country.
Goostrey Lane and Salters Lane in Siddington have both been reopened after highways teams cleared fallen trees from the road.
High winds and rain continue to make driving conditions difficult and motorists are advised to take extra care.
The Met Office says winds of up to 75 miles per hour are expected as well as heavy rain.
