Fatal collision victim named

58 year old Frank David Handley died after a road traffic collision in Stoke On Trent

The incident occurred just before 6.10pm last night, on Reginald Mitchell Way and involved a red ‘Boom’ motor tricycle.

Mr Handley, of Heathcote Street, Sandford Hill, Longton, was seriously injured. 

He was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire where he was sadly pronounced dead. 

Mr Handley’s family have released the following statement: "Loving husband, father and grandfather who suddenly passed away in Sandyford on his beloved trike last night, August 8. 

"Dave was a valued member of Potters Trikes and will be sadly missed and forever loved.

"At this time we, the family, would prefer to be left alone to grieve our loss.” 

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Sgt Ian Tanner at Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 598 of August 8. Ends
