The family of a Cheshire teenager killed in the Manchester Arena bombing have spoken about the support they have received.
14-year-old Nell Jones from Goostrey died after attending the Ariana Grande concert on 22 May, along with her friend Freya Lewis, who remains in hospital for treatment after suffering multiple injuries.
Hundreds of people attended Nell's funeral at St Michael and All Angels in Middlewich on 22 June, with dozens having to listen to the service outside because the church was full to capacity.
Today the Jones family have released a statement in response to the reaction following Nell's death:
"Five weeks ago our lives were changed beyond all comprehension. The loss of our beloved Nell has completely devastated our lives forever. We would like to thank the local community, (headteacher) Mr Oliver and Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, Greater Manchester and Cheshire Police for all their generosity, love and support.
"We would specifically like to thank each of the 16 members of the gang who walked from Crewe to Manchester and placed a wreath and photograph of Nell in St Anne’s Square, raising £3,000 for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
"We would also like to thank all of those who left floral tributes at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive and all those who have donated to the Just Giving - Remembering Nell fund.
"The Remembrance Garden that will be created from this fund will be created from this fund will bring great comfort to us all as a family in the years to come.
"Thank you everyone with all our hearts."
