Crewe rooftop stand-off over

Wednesday, April 19th, 2017 4:26pm

A man has come down from the roof of a former leisure centre in Crewe, following a stand off with police lasting around 7 hours.

Officers - including police negotiators - were called out at 7:12am this morning (19 April) to reports of a 24-year-old man in an agitated state, throwing items off the roof of the former Flag Lane swimming baths.

Alton Street, Walthall Street and Flag Lane were closed due to the debris being thrown from the building, though the cordon has now been lifted.

Police confirm the man came down around 2pm, before being assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital.
