Police are treating a fire at a wholesale food store in Stoke-on-Trent as suspicious.
Emergency services were called out to Freshways on Portland Street in Cobridge just after 2 o'clock this morning (8 May).
Fire bosses determined it was not necessary to evacuate nearby residents, but they have been advised to keep their windows and doors shut.
Crews remain at the scene to damp down.
The premises had been emptied the day before and there was nothing valuable inside the building.
An arson investigation has now been launched.
Anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious on Portland Street around the time of the incident, or have any information which could help with the investigation are asked to call Staffordshire Police on call 101 and ask for DC Craig Wagstaff, quoting incident number 51 of 8 May.
