Late Cahill strike denies Stoke point

Sunday, March 19th, 2017 10:50am

Stoke City suffered late agony against Chelsea as they went down 2-1 to the league leaders.

Gary Cahill grabbed a dramatic late winner for Antonio Conte's side three minutes from time.

Willian had put the Londoners ahead on 13 minutes from a free kick.

Jon Walters equalised just before half time from the penalty spot after he had been brought down by Cahill.

But the England defender popped up with the winner to break Stoke's hearts in the closing stages.

Potters defender Phil Bardsley was then sent off for a second bookable offence.
