Crewe's five-star performance

Chris Porter scored twice as Crewe hit Chesterfield for five

Crewe Alex moved up to fourth in League Two after thrashing Chesterfield 5-1.

Chris Porter opened the scoring after just six minutes but it wasn't until the second half that the home side turned on the style.

Porter added a second, in the 47th minute before Perry Ng and George Cooper added to the scoreline.

An own goal from Eddie Nolan saw the visitors reduce the lead, before Callum Ainley added a fifth for the Railwaymen nine minutes from time.

Dave Artell's side are now five points behind leaders Exeter.

The Alex are back in action on Tuesday night at home to Cambridge.
