Each local commercial radio station in the UK has certain requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK’s radio regulator. This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music tracks, local news etc.
News bulletin schedule:
Signal 1 broadcasts bulletins containing a mix of local, UK and
world news together with sport, entertainment, travel and weather information every
hour on weekdays (and at 06.30, 07.30, 08.30, 16:30, 17:30 18:30). There
are additional updates at 05.30, 06.30, 07.30 and 08.30 on weekdays.

Automated programming:
We are proud to broadcast all of our output live. None of our
output is automated.
Amount of local programming:
Signal 1’s programming is locally produced and presented for 13
hours each weekday and 12 hours on Saturdays and 4 hours on Sundays. At other
times we share output from the UTV Network.
Ofcom localness guidelines
Ofcom, the government regulator with responsibility for local
radio, has produced localness guidelines that this station adheres to. These guidelines can be read here.

Events / charities support or coverage
Signal
Radio has its own fundraising appeal called "Help a Signal Child” which raises
thousands of pounds for local children's charities and appeals throughout
Staffordshire and Cheshire.
We raise money for other charities with a number of events throughout the year, including the "Bring A Pound To Work Day” which has raised thousands over the past 2 years for the Douggie Mac hospice.
