Signal Radio and Leek United raises £800 for Help a Signal Child.

Signal Radio and Leek United took to the field at Britannia Stadium on the 25th of June to help raise money for Help a Signal Child.  Signal “1”derers, made up of Signal 1 & 2 presenters, staff, students and listeners, took on a team from the local Leek United Building Society, for a friendly game of football at Stoke City’s home ground.  After a tough first half, with Signal “1”derers 3 nil down, the team pulled it back with 2 goals in the second half.  But Leek United scored the nail in the coffin for a 4-2 win for them.

Money was raised through ticket sales, as 100s of local listeners and fans came to support both teams, plus a half time raffle to win a shirt and signed football from Stoke City.  Rachel Austin, Signal Radio’s Station Director said “Thank you to Leek United for inviting us to play in this game.  It was an exciting match enjoyed by players and supporters alike.  Congratulations on a great result.”
