As far as Mexican restaurants are concerned, this is a
hidden gem in Middlewich.
Ideally located on Wheelock Street, a warm and pleasant
welcome awaits you from owner Jason and his team. The décor has a traditional
yet modern Mexican style, with music that soon has you tapping your feet to the
sounds of salsa.
The food menu is varied offering traditional Mexican dishes such as fajitas, burritos, enchiladas, as well as house specials, with an extensive and varied drinks menu including cocktails.
Our Mexican journey began with starters of Hongas Yucatan, pan fried mushrooms served in a tortilla basket, and the Taco Basket filled with chilli. Both were delicious.
The main course followed with a very tasty and filling Vegetable Quesadilla and Enchilada, and side dishes of ‘un poco de todo’ or ’a little bit of everything’ including rice, refried beans, salad, peppers and onions, washed down by a refreshing strawberry daiquiri.
Although we did not sample any of the deserts, there was a varied choice including Banana Chimichanga, Chocolate fudge cake, Cheesecake and the traditional Churro de Lazo.
Chimichangos has recently been awarded the Trip Advisor accolade of Certificate of Excellence 2013, due to their positive reviews, a testament to the excellent food, service and staff.
Well worth a visit!
